Since season two, the Croatian city of Dubrovnik has been a prominent game of thrones filming location and as a result, thousands of fans have flocked to check it out for themselves.
If you happen to be such a fan, its hard to walk around the old city without recognising the locations, but we have highlighted a few here to help you out.
- Pile Gate (Entrance to the old town)
The Pile gate has been used for a number of scenes throughout seasons two and three with arguably the most iconic scene it’s used in being Season two, episode six ‘The old gods and the new’.

2. Pile Harbour (Bokar Fortress and Fort Lovrijenac)
Close to the site of Pile Gate is the setting for Kings Landing Harbour which is visible from Pile Harbour. In most recent times, the location has been used when Cersei awaits Myrcella return which can be watched in Season Six, Episode One.

3. West Pier
The Pier on Dubrovnik West Harbour is Blackwater Bay, the stone dock where Sansa and Shae are watching the ships in Season Three, Episode one ‘Valar Dohaeris’ when littlefinger arrives to talk to Sansa and offer her a way out.
